Progeny

Medallion has sired many outstanding youngsters, some of whom are now leading the way in the Dressage arenas around Australia. Notice too that despite Medallion's relative small size (15.2hh), his progeny certainly stand above alot of their competition!

This is just a selection of Medallion's progeny. If you also have a young horse by Medallion, email us a photo and we will be pleased to show your youngster off for you!

Glenhaven Montana

By Richmeed Medallion out of a Ludendorf mare (Stirling Lyrebird).

Brown gelding, 17hh (1997)

Montana is owned and trained by FEI rider Gillian Green. He is by Medallion out of Stirling Lyrebird (Ludendorf). A few years ago, when we first put Montana on our "Progeny Page", he was just about to start his serious competition career and Gillian was looking forward to taking him all the way through to Grand Prix. Well, Glenhaven Montana is now 8 years old, and started his Advanced / Prix St. George competitions this year. He has been successful in both Advanced and Prix St. George, with a string of successes under his belt already. He will be competing Advanced / Prix St. George at the State Championships 2006, and then commencing competition in the "small tour" (PSG/Inter 1) in earnest to try and obtain qualifications for the CDI 2007. Of Monty, Gillian says "I have trained Monty, and it is still my goal to get to our first CDI next year and take him through to Grand Prix. He has a Lovely nature being by Medallion and a wonderful character. I would highly recommend the Medallion lines to any future buyer."

Results for 2006
- Advanced Champion Armidale Dressage Festival
- Advanced Champion Namoi Dressage Championships
- Advanced Champion North West Dressage Championships Tamworth

"He is a very, very lovely horse with an exceptional temperament which I'm sure comes from Medallion," Gillian says. "I would be more than happy to recommend the Medallion progeny".

He is an absolute sweetheart - we are very pleased with his nature and the handling that he has already had. Our kids adore him, and he is so gentle when they are with him." - Helen Luebbe, on Monet's arrival in SW Qld

Opal Park Magellan

Opal Park Magellan

Bred by Opal Park Warmbloods and owned by Lyn Walker, formerly of Tasmania.

By Richmeed Medallion out of Lunar Blue (Salute/Ludendorf). Full brother to Opal Park Melita (above), Magellan is owned by Lyn Walker of Tasmania.

Black Colt, expected to mature approximately 16.3hh. DOB 21 October 2005. Magellan is a stunning upstanding young colt with a delightful temperament. His "look at me" attitude is testament to his imported bloodlines - on both sides of his pedigree! Magellan is a delight to handle, and would be suitable for retaining as a colt.

Salute is the sire of GV Stirling Stilton (Campaigned by Heath Ryan and the highest placed Australian horse at the 2004 WEG), Staccato (4 star eventer owned by Craig Barrat), DP Christopher (competing at Grand Prix with Heath Ryen), and Victory Salute (competing Grand Prix with Brett Parbery) just to name a few.

Ludendorf was for many years competed by Heath Ryan. He was an Advanced eventer and a Grand Prix dressage horse. Ludendorf has sired top level performers in all three olympic disciplines, a number of licensed stallions, and countless broodmares. His blood features in the pedigree of horses such as Snowy River Redwood, Snowy River Blackwood, and TL Ramedon.

As with his full sister Melita, Magellan's movement has to be seen to be believed! He is very closely related to Byalee Magic (also by Medallion out of a Salute/Ludendorf mare) Byalee Magic is currently competing PSG/Inter 1 and is expected to have his first Grand Prix start in 2006. Melita is also closely related to Coachwood Mayfly and Mayhem - Arabian Warmblood champions.
